“Unless I See” John 20:24- 30
“Unless, I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.” – Thomas
The unbelief of Thomas did not change what was true. What was true for the other disciples? [John 20:25]
[John 20:26] The upper room was where the disciples were gathered for safety. If the religious leaders had called for the crucifixion of Jesus, they would certainly be looking for these eleven followers also. With an uncertain future of tomorrow the disciples experienced true fear for their life. Jesus came and He stood with them. The disciples heard first from Jesus what they needed to hear most. Peace to You.
[John 20:27] Jesus turned to Thomas with an invitation to examine the truth of His resurrection.
[John 20:28] Seeing the power of the resurrection of Christ changed the unbelief of Thomas to his personal profession of faith.
The appearance of Jesus Christ risen was for a period of forty days. How can people believe in the resurrection today without the opportunity to see Jesus risen as Thomas saw?
John answers that.
