ENCOURAGERS IN HIS MAKING
If you were to map encouragement as certain destination points in the Bible there are several that we could pinpoint right away. We could start with Luke 24 and add Hebrews 11 with Hebrews 10:25 finally arriving in Acts 4 where we will unpack. In Acts chapter 4 we can identify three tools God uses to shape us into encouragers for His purposes.
Acts 4:23-24 reveals the way the first church prayed.
Acts 4:25-30 is the early church with prayers of scripture revealing how they viewed the scriptures in the first century.
Acts 4:31-35 unfolds for us how the New Testament church applied the word of God in their lives.
Acts 4:36-37 Our chapter closes by introducing one disciple who the apostles named Barnabas, meaning “Son of Encouragement”.
