Pastor of Assimilation to Mission: Birthplace: Exeter, England

Rev. J Martin Sayer has served as pastor in England, Canada, Texas and Virginia. Martin has also been professor and dean of men in a Bible College of Texas. Martin will launch a new Sunday school class reaching the 35-45 year olds and will begin with the Book of beginnings, Genesis. Pastor Sayer will oversee life groups of this age group.

Gyula Scherer who is a current deacon here at Round Hill and has served as instructor of political science in the service of Hungary. Gyula will lead our R12 discipleship training for life group leaders and launch a SS class for reaching the 45-60 year olds. Gyula will oversee life groups in this age group.

Children’s Director:

Birthplace: Clarke County, VA

Mary Leonard who has served as a supervisor for Loudoun County will gather a team and coordinate with existing children’s leaders to launch a new children’s ministry on Wednesday nights. Mary will facilitate meetings with our Children’s leaders as we plan to reach the children for Christ in our community.

Pastor Chip was called to Round Hill as senior pastor in December 2010. Chip and his wife Penny believe God has led them to Northern Virginia to multiply His word. Since God impacted their lives with the small group and Sunday school Pastor Chip has brought a vision for multiplying disciples and multiplying His word. “Penny and I met each other at our home church and I actually taught her Sunday school class. As we celebrate 30 years of marriage this year it is obvious to us that God used the small group to shape and impact our lives for Christ.” Following the vision to multiply disciples and multiply God’s word the church has called a new great commission staff. The entire new staff began serving in March of this year. “I am so thankful for a brand new team to serve with here at Round Hill. I know these new leaders are committed when they are willing to staff at 6:30 in the morning!” As God leads us in multiplying disciples we realize that every believer has a spiritual gift for serving within the body of Christ. That kind of journey is always filled with wows.

Children’s Summer Intern:

Stephanie Cunningham who will be a senior this upcoming semester at Bridgewater College, has been attending Round Hill Baptist Church since she was born. She has worked with the children in several areas such as babysitting for the Women's group and teaching music for Vacation Bible School for the past few years. Stephanie will be our summer intern and will be providing the children in the community different activities throughout the summer to help spread God's word and love.

Youth Intern:

Birthplace: Bethesda, MD

Life Verse: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith" 2 Timothy 4:7

Shane Swanson who is a recent graduate of Liberty University will be serving as the summer youth intern. Shane has served as a youth leader on multiple occassions for Centreville Baptist Church and Coastal Community Church. Shane will be have a focus on building a core group of young people who are committed to living for Christ and using that as a method of outreach and growth for the youth group.
